What is a psychedelic-assisted therapy session?
I offer sessions involving the use of psychedelics like psilocybin or MDMA, taken in a safe and supportive setting, in the presence of two highly trained, trauma-informed therapists, as per clinical trial protocols.
The journey itself is an intentional therapeutic experience designed to help clients explore their consciousness, confront difficult emotions, and gain new insights.
What is integration?
After a psychedelic-assisted session, integration is ESSENTIAL and not automatic. I assist clients as they make sense of, process, and apply insights from the psychedelic experience.
Reflecting on Insights and Experiences: Integration sessions help clients make sense of the emotional and cognitive insights from their psychedelic journey, especially if they encountered difficult or confusing elements.
Developing New Perspectives: Many people experience shifts in perspective, self-concept, or interpersonal relationships after a psychedelic experience. Integration therapy helps them navigate and internalize these shifts in a healthy, sustainable way.
Implementing Positive Changes: Integration work involves setting intentions or action steps to incorporate any positive changes inspired by the experience, such as forming new habits, improving relationships, or fostering a healthier mindset.
Support and Guidance: The therapist provides a supportive environment where clients feel safe discussing their experiences. This support is crucial in helping clients process intense emotions or overcome challenges as they make changes inspired by the session.
Together, screening and integration enhance the safety, effectiveness, and long-term benefits of psychedelic therapy, making it a more grounded, accessible approach to personal growth and healing.
